Given the university’s response to the spread of COVID-19, the Academic Resource Center is suspending all outreach activities currently organized through the end of Spring 2020. As such, we will not be able to participate in the event you have organized in this period or honor new requests.
We appreciate your interest in learning more about how we support Duke students. We hope that we will be able to reschedule our commitment to your group in the future.
The ARC gives workshops and presentations all across campus, to small and large groups, on a range of topics.
Workshops and presentations can be requested by anyone in the Duke community, including student groups, academic departments, faculty, and staff.
They usually range in length from 45-50 minutes and are typically conducted at your campus location. There is no fee for ARC workshops and presentations.
Topics can include those listed below, or we can tailor presentations to meet the specific needs of your audience.
Examples of Topics:
- Overview of the ARC
- Time Management
- Effective Studying/Learning
The ARC staff also participates in tabling events where students can learn about ARC services.
How to Request a Workshop or Presentation
Please provide at least two weeks’ notice for all outreach requests. Events must be held Mondays through Thursdays before 7 pm and Fridays before 5 pm.
To request an outreach program, please submit an Outreach Request form (currently disabled, see above). You will receive a response within 48 hours of submitting the request.
If you have additional questions or would like to speak with someone prior to submitting an Outreach Request, please feel free to contact us at theARC@duke.edu or 919.684.5917.
