Bloom's Taxonomy shows the six levels at which we can use knowledge. These levels build on one another. You must master the lower levels before you are able to use higher-level cognitive skills on a given topic.

Synthesis level: At this stage you should be able to put different items you have learned together in order to form something new.

Argument Level: At this stage you should be able to make judgments regarding new information.
4. Analyze
Inference Level: At this stage you should be able to break material down into its component parts so that you can understand how it is organized and the relationship between parts.
3. Apply
Using Level: At this stage you should be able to use rules, laws, principles and concepts to solve new problems with minimal cues or directions.
2. Understand
Comprehension Level: At this stage you should be able to explain and provide a rationale to support concepts or principles.

Knowledge Level: At this stage you should be able to recall previously learned material, answer questions asking you to define/state.
